I commissioned my good friends at AreaTrade to build me a twitter site and this is the image they decided summed me up! The star of the show is our family staffie Reg!

Picture of the Day - Low Key Male Portrait

I love to play with light to create a variety of moods in my portraits. Here a client wanted a low-key, mysterious but not unfriendly look and I think we achieved it.

Picture of the Day - Be yourself, or be someone else!

Today's daily picture is a portrait of a client who wanted shots of her as someone else! She donned a fabulous afro wig and some mad false lashes and this is what we created together:

Picture of the Day - King Kerry

The Chelsea Old Boys are a team made up of former players who raise money for charity playing local sides throughout the summer months. I'd thoroughly recommend a trip to watch them, it's great fun and brings back some fond (or sometimes not so fond!) memories.

Here's Kerry patrolling the front line ready to strike!

As well as setting up our backdrops for a stylish, contempory look, we also look to make the most of the surroundings around us to create stunning environmental portraits like this one. Why not check our website for more examples and to book a session.

Picture of the Day - Family Portraits

When we book a photo session involving Children & Families, we work hard to create a vibrant fun atmosphere in which we can take some memorable, relaxed and natural poses. Today's picture of the day is of a Mum & Daughter and captures the fun of the session and the joy of their love for each other.

Picture of the Day - More than a headshot

Daniel Davies Photography -3142

A series of "headshots", like the one shown above is essential to any actor or model looking for work. Book a portfolio session with us and we can offer you so much more than a headshot. Our sessions (based on group bookings) start from £60 and offer you a two hour window for as many poses and costume changes as you can fit in. Weather permitting we can work inside or outside and often do both.

Give you career a kick start here!

Picture of the Day - Weddings are for Families

I love shooting weddings for all the joy that comes when families get together. Different generations together in a way that doesn't happen very often give me the opportunity to capture some memorable images. Here's one for today.

Picture of the Day - Wedding Storytelling

When we cover weddings, we always look to record the story of your day. That's why, when others would only take a single photograph, we will take four or five.

Consider today's picture of the day:

Photobucket

The "classic" wedding shot is top right of the picture, but by including the images immediately before and after then a real sense of the love and fun being shared comes across. Imagine a page like this in your wedding album.

Please have a look at our full website for details of our wedding service.

Picture of the Day - Battersea Park sunset

Another more personal image and a second sunset for today's picture of the day. This one has recently been purchased as an amazing 30"X40" canvas by a business local to the park and provides a stunning display piece in their new offices.

Picture of the Day - Family Favourites

Sometimes it's difficult to come up with an original present for a parent. Today's picture of the day came from a photo session purchased as a birthday present for a much loved Mum. What a lovely idea from a couple of daughters (and fun for them too!).

Why not think about booking a portrait session in the run up to Christmas?

Picture of the Day - Jose Mourinho, the exit's this way.

One from the archives today as we head back to September 19 2007 and the launch of "Blue Revolution" a DVD chronicling the first years at Stamford Bridge since Roman Abramovic's purchase of the club. Ironically a little more than 4 hours after this picture was taken, Jose had been sacked and the Mourinho era was over. Perhaps that explains the glum look on his face as he passed the press pit on that ill fated evening.

Picture of the Day - Wedding Details

Covering a wedding these days is so much more than just taking the formal shots. Quite apart from the celebratory and passionate element of weddings (something I think you'll find a constant theme throughout all of my work), I love having the opportunity to spend several hours in beautiful surroundings, taking pictures of people all dressed up and looking their best.

As part of every wedding I cover, I look for the details that will help you to really remember your wedding day. Whilst these images are unlikely ever to be printed big and displayed on your wall, they make excellent album pages. Here's an example from a wedding earlier this year.

Picture of the Day - Chelsea Champions League Press Conference

I was fortunate enough to be invited into the scrum covering some of Chelsea's champions league press conferences last season. As well as watching the conference itself, the first fifteen minutes of training is open to journalists and photographers, though this part of the session is necessarily an exercise in revelaing nothing!.

Today's photo of the day comes from the press conference on the day before the 4-4 extraordinary draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge that saw Chelsea progress to the Semi Finals. It shows a relaxed Ricardo Carvalho watched on by then Manager Guus Hiddink as they face the media.

Picture of the Day - Salsa Sensations

A little while ago I spent an enjoyable evening in the company of Enfield's premier Salsa Class - Salsa Sensations. Amongst the images we provided for their website was this shot which has been used extensively in the company's corporate branding. It's a favourite of mine and I thought you'd like to share it.

Picture of the Day - Nude doesn't have to be crude

At Daniel Davies Photography, we are renowned for our glamorous, sexy and above all beautiful erotic portraiture service "Flirty to Dirty!".

Whilst we're happy for our subjects to be as daring as they want we're very aware that some people are a little more reserved. This really doesn't matter and we can work with you to produce sexy but subtle portraits that show you at your best without "showing" anything you're uncomfortable about.

Take a look at today's picture of the day for an example.

Daniel Davies Photography -1

Our erotic portraiture sessions are a fantastic, life affirming experience and excellent value at only £250 for a session in your home. Michelle and Dane always work as a team, so you'll have the reassurance of another female with you at all times and you'll be amazed at how good you really do look.

Picture of the Day - Frank Lampard

Back in January I ventured to Chelsea F.C.'s Cobham training base to photograph Frank Lampard for Chelsea Chelsea Magazine and the CFCnet.co.uk website.

We carried out the interview in a small room off to one side of Chelsea's grand reception. Whilst most of the pictures were taken with a flash on my hotshoe, I noted that the only daylight was coming from one small, oblong window in front and slightly to the right of Frank. Killing the flash and underexposing slightly gave me this image, which I kind of like. Let me know what you think.

Picture of the Day - Pafos Harbour

I'm very fortunate in that my Dad now lives out in Cyprus, and I'm counting down to holiday over there at the end of October. I thought you'd enjoy one of the images I took on a previous trip.

It shows Pafos Harbour taken as the sun sets behind the fort at the harbour entrance and was processed (some time ago) in Paint Shop Pro.

Sarah & John's Pre-wedding session - Sneak Peek!

I spent a couple of hours yesterday evening in the company of Sarah & John, who are getting married next month. It's only to be hoped that the weather on their big day is significantly better than we encountered last night. Heavy rain and strong wind meant we were forced indoors and my usual range of photographic opportunities was severely restricted.

Some lovely clean white walls in their home leant themselves a high-key look in many of the images and even when limited to some on-camera flash, the 5d Mark II didn't disappoint.

A little bit of processing in Lightroom later and here are the first of their images. The full gallery should follow in a few days.

Until then, enjoy this sneak peek!

Picture of the Day - Gael Kakuta

With news just breaking that Chelsea have been banned from making any new signings for two transfer windows after being found guilty of "tapping up" French youngster Gael Kakuta, it seems pertinent to start my "Picture of the Day" series with a shot of the talented midfielder equalising for Chelsea in the first leg of the 2008 F.A. Youth Cup Final, which was drawn 1-1. Opponents Manchester City unfortunately went on to win the trophy with victory in the second leg.

Gael,Kakuta,Gael Kakuta,Chelsea

Kakuta himself has been banned from competitive football for four months, which is a shame as he missed half of last season with a nasty combination leg break & dislocation and had just been named in Chelsea's Champions League squad. I'm sure an appeal is imminent.

Photograph was taken from pitchside at Stamford Bridge with a Canon 40D and Sigma 70-200 EX DG.

Wings and Wheels - Dunsfold Aerodrome this weekend

Following on from my news posting on my website, my first photo posting on the new blog is some images from this Sundays most enjoyable trip to Dunsfold Aerodrome (home to BBC's "Top Gear") for Wings and Wheels, which combines a motor and airshow together.   It gave me a perfect opportunity to test out the new 5D Mark II, which continues to impress and to further delight in the still wonderous Red Arrows.
